Luke 13:14 ASV

It's easy to get upset at the synagogue ruler and think he was just being stupid and judgmental, but how many times have we silently played that part before? Maybe someone was healed or set free from a "terrible" addiction, worshiped in a way different than how we would, or read from a different translation - and because we didn't understand it or could relate to it, we didn't approve of it. In fact, we share with others that what "they're" doing is completely unacceptable - when all along, it's been our attitude that's completely unacceptable. Lord, forgive us for being more concerned with the "rules" of our brand of Christianity than with being "right" before you. Help me to be someone who's not afraid to step on some toes, doesn't mind when you step on mine, and will work hard to forgive when others step on mine for no good reason.
