Day 5 Devotion by Mike Yaconelli
Clueless, a movie from the early 90's that revolutionized the way we talked. "Valley" talk took over common day language and our language capability somehow seemed to diminish. However in today's devotion we understand the clueless is always a constant state of living for Christians. The scripture reading demonstrates how the disciples, who were the closest people to Jesus, still, did not understand things about Jesus that others did. This woman came in and understood the sacrifice he was about to make anointed him. Yaconelli says that as we grow in our relationship with God, we understand how little we truly understand. I have never looked at it this way but in a relationship with God, it is a constant adventure, because we are always learning and figuring him out more. There is no plateau in this relationship, the only reason you would stop learning is not because there is nothing more to know, but because of our own faults. The deeper we go, the deeper we can be drawn in. So if we ever get bored with our relationship with God... what is that saying, that God is boring or that we are boring God?

God may not have always given me everything I want, but I'm sure God is real because...I see the mighty works of his hand, creation speaks to the glory of God, I know God is real because of the personal relationship I have with him, and I know God is real because of the love He demonstrated to me by sending His Son to die on the cross.
