Genesis 1:1 ASV and Genesis 2:1 ASV

I noticed in Gen 1:1, before the days of creation begin, it reads,"..created the heaven and the earth.". Now, after you read through the days of creation and its complete, Gen 2:1 reads,"Thus the heavens and the earth...". Notice before the days of our creation, heaven was in singular form, but after the days of creation, it is now plural form. It would seem to me that there is more than one heaven. One old and the other new. And if you read my other contribution titled "Creation before Creation", it's almost as if something was happening or did happen before the creation of everything God has taught us. I believe that what ever was before our creation days, is irrelevant to what God wants us to know now, but I find this all to be very interesting. Who knows, maybe if we keep reading our Bible, the answer may be found. Or, maybe I'm just wrong about the whole theory. Either way, the Bible does not contradict itself and there can only be one answer.
