The Foolishness of the Cross
These 3 verses are interesting. Different cultures have their highest ideal they are looking for. Jews were looking for signs, Greeks were looking for wisdom. As an American, I suppose I'm looking for life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. But none of these things give the ultimate answer to the human dilemma. The ultimate answer is not a sign, a wise saying, or an opportunity, but the crucified Christ. Seems like foolishness in our minds, but it's the only thing that hasn't fallen short of its aims.
