My life is so noisy: the "smart" phone that reminds me of my hundreds of email, appointments that I'm running late to, a myriad of missed calls that came while I was in the last meeting...the distractions could fill this journal entry by themselves. So what does God ask of me? He asks me to find a quiet place (Matt 6:6); to stop going through the motions of prayer and devotion and to be truly devoted to prayer (Col 4:2); to pray all the time (1 Thes 5:17-18).

The questions are 1) Do I really believe that "prayer changes things" and 2) Do I need...or want...change in my life?
