I Can't Stand it Any Longer
There's something about Paul's attitude that I can't help but be infected by. His unwavering joy, his unmeasurable love for others, his absence of fear in his pursuit of sharing the Gospel. Paul lived the Gospel. Paul experienced one of the most incredible life transformations in all of scripture. He let himself become apart of it. Paul opens this passage in this letter saying he "couldn't stand being separated from you any longer". I imagine Paul losing sleep at night, worrying all day, beside himself as he was unsure about the state of things in Thessalonicia. In this state of unrest, Paul acts and sends Timothy to them. Upon hearing Timothy's report, Paul is filled with great joy. The same joy that made prison look like a walk in the park. Joy in Christ. May I suggest to you to take a stand and say "I Can't Stand it Any Longer". I can't stand not knowing how my friends relationship with God is, I can't stand knowing whether or not my family knows Jesus, I can't stand not reaching out in my areas of influence any longer. Once you "can't stand it any longer" reach out. May you experience, like Paul, unmeasurable joy. May you touch others in ways that brings strength, faith, hope, grace, and peace. May others touch you in the same fashion. And may God be glorified in your efforts to live the Gospel.
