Seems Right
There is a way that seems right to a man, but in the end it leads to death
Beliefs That Seem Right
• If I do something wrong, I should do something right.
• If I do something right, I deserve something good.
You foolish Galatians! Who has bewitched you? Before your very eyes Jesus Christ was clearly portrayed as crucified.
bewitched - baskaino (bas-kah'-ee-no); fascinate, cast a spell, evil eye.
I would like to learn just one thing from you: Did you receive the Spirit by observing the law, or by believing what you heard? Are you so foolish? After beginning with the Spirit, are you now trying to attain your goal by human effort?
BY FAITH YOU ARE JUSTIFIED
JUSTIFIED – JUST AS IF I’D NEVER SINNED.
Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.
Consider Abraham: He believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness
credited - logizomai (log-id'-zom-ahee); take an inventory, impute, deposit.
All who rely on observing the law are under a curse, for it is written: ‘Cursed is everyone who does not continue to do everything written in the Book of the Law.’
WHY THE LAW?
What, then, was the purpose of the law?
“put in charge to lead us” - paidagogos (pahee-dag-o-gos'); a servant who takes the children to school - KJV - schoolmaster.
• Where there is no law, there is no sin.
• The function of the law is to define sin.
• The law cannot cure sin, but it leads us to Christ.
Clearly no one is justified before God by the law, because, The righteous will live by faith.
