What a beautiful picture of a loving God. What a tremendous support. God has our back and he is COMMITED. What can go wrong? Yes we will falter and make mistakes, but that should not scare us or chip away at our hope for life. The only one we should be worry is ourselves. The only way things can go bad is if we purposefully and continually say no to God and we willfully want Him out of our lives. But even this scenario is pretty hard to imagine, though not impossible, because even so God will relentlessly pursue us all the way to the grave. Peter’s point here is that if you are honestly open to God and say yes to His promptings (through his Spirit) you are in very good position. There’s hope! You’ve got the back of a passionate God who is able. This is huge. It gives wind to our wings. We are not alone. Even with a sin infected being and environment we live in, because of Jesus resurection, we don’t have to worry that failing is permanent. In this there’s so much freedom to live life. Sin cannot have the final word anymore. Sure it can mess us up, it can slow us down, it can hurt us, it can blur our vision but through all this we are victorious. NOW THAT IS HUGE. We can live life knowing that it will be fine. No fear.
