I love this verse. I call it the winners verse, not in some cheesy, sappy motivational speaker sort of way. It just reminds me that God's blessings are real even in the face of trials. God has already granted Christ followers the crown of life (everlasting life). But sometimes we have days and weeks, trials and tribulations that just seem to never end. They will end, they will go away, there is a light at the end of the tunnel. We have a victorious outcome in life that can not be stolen away, taken from, or beaten out of us. There is a light at the end of the tunnel. Life, especially the life lived in the footsteps of Christ is a marathon, not a sprint. It is not just about the destination but the entire journey. Endurance, perseverance, is a key component of finishing well. I can finish well, I may have a sloppy start, a stitch in my side, some stumbles and even a few wipeouts along the way but I can and will finish well. There is a reward that cannot be taken away. Eternal life with Christ is within reach, God has promised and sealed the delivery. Live life without fear or compromise because God is faithful to those who steadfastly endure to follow Him to the very end.
