Our goal in these verses is to fear the Lord your God as long as you live by keeping all his decrees and commands and to teach all generations the same. We must impress them upon our hearts and talk about them with everything we do. The most effective way we can pass this on to our children is to lead by example and live God's Word. Talk to them about Loving the Lord with all our heart, soul and strength. If God's word is on our heart then we can not go against him. Daily family life is full of pressures, distractions and chores. We must find God in all that we see and do and be alert to opportunities to teach our children of God's word. Our children must see us reading and learning and living God's Word. We can also use other means like christian music and movies, going to church and our children Sunday School and fellowship with other christians. Eat, sleep and drink God's Word.
