The Wounded Warrior
Like arrows in the hands of a warrior are sons born in one's youth. Blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them. They will not be put to shame when they contend with their enemies in the gate.
He will turn the hearts of the fathers to their children, and the hearts of the children to their fathers…
HEALING THE WOUND
1) THE WARRIOR MUST ACKNOWLEDGE THE WOUND.
For I am poor and needy, and my heart is wounded within me…Help me, O LORD my God…
Name the wound:
2) THE WARRIOR MUST FORGIVE THROUGH CHRIST.
… forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.
3) THE WARRIOR MUST ACCEPT HIS FATHER THROUGH CHRIST.
Accept one another, then, just as Christ accepted you, in order to bring praise to God.
• Love your father for who he is, not who you wanted him to be!
THE WARRIOR AND HIS SON
And a voice from heaven said, ‘This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased.’
• The warrior empowers his son with love.
He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners.
• The warrior empowers his son with affirmation.
He will turn the hearts of the fathers to their children, and the hearts of the children to their fathers…
