James 2:1-13
How do you treat the people you encounter that are different? Define different however you want, not just monetarily, but what about color? religion? ethnicity? Perhaps different is just a personality trait that really gets on your nerves... How do you deal with those people?
I always find it very sobering to sit back and look at how I treat the people I get along with compared to those I don't. I find that I am shorter in my conversations and less apt to dig into the lives of the personalities that clash with mine. I rush them through our conversations so I can move on. I am less patient and less caring towards those people in general. I am convicted that this is a form of favoritism in my own life that goes completely against Christ's call to "love my neighbor" (v8).
What about you? How do you treat the people that are different?
