1 Corinthians 10:1-2 ASV, 1 Corinthians 10:3 ASV, 1 Corinthians 10:4 ASV and 1 Corinthians 10:5-11 ASV

I want to overcome. I want to stop daydreaming about who God wants me to be, and be, right now, who God wants me to be.

Last night I woke up with this scripture in my mind again. (1 Cor. 10) This scripture has always been powerful to me ever since I read it it an Edwin Luis Cole book several years ago. It is basically examples of what not to do.

What not to do:

1. Lust after evil things.
2. Become idolaters
3. Commit sexual immorality
4. Tempt Christ
5. Complain

The people referred to in this story had everything in common and were all on a journey to a, "Promised Land". However, most of them did not make it b/c they displeased God by doing the things listed above. I think that I am on a journey to a promised land whether it be here or hereafter. And I don't want to get stuck in the wilderness doing the same things over and over.
