Job 39:13; 1 Timothy 2:9-10 -- uselessness of beauty
People nowadays always focus on the outward appearence. We judge people on the amount of beauty (or lack of beauty) we have. All the popular kids in High School are beautiful. Some of the less pretty kids might feel pressure sometimes to become more beautiful. Maybe they feel they have to spend more money on the latest fashions as opposed to saving for something worthwhile. But God makes it clear that beauty isn't as important as charecter. When Jesus came to earth as a human, he didn't make himself insanely hot. He actually made himself quite plain, as it foretold in Isaiah.
Why didn't He though? Wouldn't it be easier to get followers if you were attractive? But Jesus wanted people to follow Him because of love, not just because he looked like a Jonas Brother.
In Job 39:13, it talks about an ostrich. She has such beautiful feathers, but no matter how hard she flaps her wings, she can never fly. Also, in 1 Timothy 2:9-10, it talks about how, instead of chasing trends, we should "do something beautiful for God and become beautiful doing it.
Let us focus more on doing God's will than how we dress.
