Psalm 62 is a deep and rich song of worship. God is alone worthy and is my salvation. For Him alone my soul waits. I wait in silence for the Lord, I am not beaten down by those who endlessly attack with ill motive and evil desires against me, yet say wonderful things to my face.
Verse nine speaks of the marginal worth that exists in the pleasures and strengths of this world. There is no substance of faith in these things. All the weightiness that the world has to offer does not compare to the strength and steadfastness of the Lord. Therefore, do not place your heart in them.

The worship to God is responding with a quiet, listening response to His faithfulness, salvation, mighty rock, refuge, and glory. God alone can see the heart motives and faithfulness of man and He will respond to each one accordingly. This is a statement of position that we all hold in Christ (or not). My special heritage or experience, or background does not give me special privilege in God's eyes.
