God gave the command to Adam not to eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. He didn't tell Eve - so Adam's responsibility was to love his wife through teaching her the commands of the Lord.

This is a convicting passage for husbands. Men are to be spiritual leaders. This isn't just out of convenience or because God felt like assigning the task; as in this instance, it really is a matter of life and death.
