Day 1 - Gen 1:4 - The Light

I noticed something while reading through Genesis 1. Only one creation was singled out and called good, and that is the creation, light.
Light is a big theme in the Bible and it especially reminds me of Apostle John's gospel and letter. Why is light a good creation? It is good because it illuminates.
Without light we would all be stumbling in the darkness, tripping over everything, knocking into each other. The world as we know would be a very different place.
Light is a creation. And before today, I did not think of light as a creation because from the day I was born there was light. It has been there. (I thank God I was born with sight, although I believe God can also show light to a blind person)
Do not take light for granted, thank God for his creation! And there's another light that God has given to us, in fact there are many lights but one light I want to bring to your attention is his Word.
It says in Psalm 119:105, his word is a light unto my path. Today is the start of the new year, will you hold this light up like a flashlight in a deep jungle with ravines and traps and evil things?
What I want to say is, read the word everyday. Using the 1st of January as a launching point and read the Bible with a 1-year-plan! Thank God for light!
