Sacrifice For Their Forgiveness
In this verse we see the first sacrifice of an animal for man's sin. In the midst of this act of forgiveness by God to Adam and eve, we first learn that something had to die for the atonement of the sin adam and eve committed. I love how this foreshadows what Jesus did on our behalf on the cross. Because we sinned (Rom. 3:23) Jesus - God incarnate - came to earth as a man - lived, taught, and died so we could come before God in fellowship. May we not forget that all throughout the Bible sin comes with a cost that results in death (Rom. 6:23) but believing in and following Jesus results in the life we all need and need to be sharing (John 14:6).
