Matthew 4 is the answer to the problem of Genesis 3. The connection is obvious. But Jesus' life is as much a part of our salvation as his death and resurrection.

He resisted where we (continually) succumb. He took action in areas where we (continually) back off. He gave when we (continually) take.

I'm comforted to know that Jesus' LIFE covers my own. I'm humbled to know that I'm so far from really getting it right. I'm thankful for the redemption paid and the freedom offered.

I pray I can live up to the calling.
