Grace in the Garments
I have heard that one definition of Grace is God working for us. This verse gives a clear picture of God's Grace. God making garments of skin and clothed Adam & Eve in their nakedness. Why did he cloth them? Because their attempt to cloth themselves in Gen 3:7 was not sufficient. This is the problem with religion. It is man trying to cover his nakedness with his own works instead of relying on Grace and Forgiveness. Notice that even though Adam covered himself, he still hid when God came near. This is because guilt is never displaced with works. Guilt is only displaced by grace.
Grace is based on a relationship with God. Grace allows God to cover our nakedness with his forgiveness. Grace is God covering our guilt with his love. Grace is God working for us.
