You must know God for God to know you.
This verse tells me that it doesn't matter to God that you pray a little prayer to be saved and expect to really be saved. You must know Him by the fruits that you bare or by your deeds in His name. His glory must shine through and through in your actions and that comes with really knowing and having a relationship with the Lord God. There is so much evidence that proves this throughout the bible yet so many Christians believe otherwise. This is my belief, and my interpretation of the text. I used to believe that the simple prayer was enough but now as my relationship grows with Him I believe it is so much more.
