Satan only told Adam and Eve part of the truth. And part of the truth is a whole lie. Every time. "You won't die," Satan deceived. "You will be like God!" The problem was Adam and Eve were mesmerized by the benefits of the half-truth and ignored the rest. Yes, they gained discernment of good and evil. But they were also banished from the garden and, thus, from the eternal life of the Tree of Life. The lure of sin always conceals the consequences of hedonism and self-indulgence. God, give us grace to always remember this crucial truth!
