You'd think it would be the opposite. Shouldn't Jesus have said, "Wherever the desires of your heart are, there your treasure will also be"? This teaching of Jesus was so counter-intuitive. Jesus seems to be saying that if I honor him with my treasure, even when I don't "feel" like it, then eventually that discipline will change my heart. Culture doesn't teach that.
