This scares me
If this is literally true, I'm in big trouble. I find one of the great struggles in getting older and accumulating more experience is guarding against cynicism. The optimistic enthusiasm of youth is contagious. Too many guys in their forties are cynical and have stopped living. Cynicism and judgment are linked. One of my prayers this morning is that God would help me overcome any latent cynicism, believe the best about others, and come at life daily from a place of compassion, optimism and hope. Cynicism and judgment are not attractive (try inviting your friends into that). Hope, grace and forgiveness are deeply attractive. I want those to define me. Praying for that, God.
