This is why I have trouble with praying in restaurants before a meal. It's not that I am ungrateful, it's just that I feel like I am praying so that others can see me do it. It seems fake. I'm sure that for some it is an honest and moving time to thanks God for the blessing of food. But for me it seems ritualistic and forced. And that is not the type of relationship I need to have with God.
