Have you ever been hated by someone who was envious of you?
Saul was envious of David, because he was becoming very popular with the people and Saul didn't like it. Envy can lead to pretty destructive behavior if it is left to take root. I myself, believe that jealousy began to consume Saul's thoughts, and the only way he felt that he could be free of this, was to kill David. David did nothing wrong and yet Saul wanted to take his life. David had to flee for his life from a death sentence that he did not deserve. What did David do in response to this?? He turned to the one and only true Judge and asked God to vindicate him.
God is a God of Justice, and will bring justice to those who themselves cannot. So, the next time that someone starts to get jealous or envious of you, take it to the court of God! Let God be your vindication in serving his righteous judgment on your enemies. :)
