Being an Example
Being an example to non-believers is a tough thing. Jesus was a perfect example of how we need to put ourselves around people that do not know God so that we may help them. However, it's not that simple. Too often do we use this verse as an excuse to be places that maybe we shouldn't. There is a fine line between being a light in dark places and just plain being in dark places. It isn't easy to be surrounded by sin and not give into it. We need to be especially careful to balance our time between people who need us and people who we need. I know I would never be able to stand firm in my faith around non-believers if it weren't for my Christian friends.
