Matthew 10:1-42 NIV84

The verses of Matthew 10:1-42 (Jesus Sends Out the Twelve) describes what Christ says to the twelve apostles before sending them out them out among the public to spread the Word of the Lord. Jesus describes what his plans and expectations are for the apostles. He also identifies obstacles and hardships they will face.

As Disciples of Christ we must act in the same manner as the apostles. We are asked to live with mercy, frugality, and humility. We are to be caregivers to mankind through actions of service, compassion, and kindness. As we behave in this way we begin to transform this world that we call Earth with gifts overflowing as in the kingdom of heaven.
