I can see a lot of things going on in these verses but what struck me most is the manner in which Abraham spoke to God. Each time Abraham opened his mouth again, he pleaded with the Lord to let him continue speaking. He showed a fear of God that we should all have. It is not our right to be able to sit and pray to God whenever we please. God created us and he desired our company, yes, but the Lord Almighty can do as he pleases. He doesn't have to listen to us and hear our prayers but he does because he loves us. We should be so thankful that we can speak with the Lord and we should have a fear just as Abraham did. Don't take this gift for granted. Talk to God. Everyday.
