I hadn't ever noticed this passage before a few months ago. It says that Seth was made in the image of Adam, not God. Maybe this is pointing to our death inheritence from Adam like we read in Romans 5:12-14. Maybe if we were in the full likeness of God, we would not die because it is with Jesus and salvation that we can overcome death.
