Psalm 25:6-7 ASV

David wants God to remember the lengths to which he went to turn him from sin rather than the sin that required God to go such lengths.

What an awesome prayer, "Remember the mercy that you showed me rather than the sin that necessitated the mercy. Remember how you rescued me from the mess I made of my life, rather than the mess itself."

It's kind of like asking a search and rescue team to remember the lengths they went to save you rather than remember the idiotic thing you did to need rescuing.

Or like a child whose parent bails him out of a mess - remember the love you showed me rather than what I did to necessitate such incredible love.

This applies to more than just my youth! God remember your mercy, not what I do each day to require it.
