Two Sons
I only recently read this verse for the first time. I had always assumed that after Ishmael and his mother are cast out, his story leaves the biblical narrative. I think it's a profound thought, especially with the current conflict in Gaza, to remember that Isaac and Ishmael came together to bury their father, Abraham. One cursed, one blessed, but still brothers who came together at one time.
