1 Chron. 16:14 - His Judgments are in All the Earth
All the nations around Israel in the days of Chronicles had their own gods. The people in that day were a lot like us in that they were "inclusive" in their religious beliefs. In that day, different god's ruled over different cities and nations. And that was just the way it was. The reason was because no expected that their god's rule and reign to go beyond their city or nation. They knew that their god's dominion was just over their city or nation but when they traveled to another city or nation their were different gods to honor. It was common when traveling to a different city or nation and pay your respects to the god of that place.
With Israel, it was different though, their god didn't fit into this box and refused to do so. God made the claim that He was the God of gods and as this verse says, "He is the Lord our God; his judgments are in all the earth." He redefined the gods of the cities and nations as lesser gods or spirits. All were under His authority and judgment. Later these gods were redefined as demons because they wished to be God.
We serve a God who is above all authority and dominion and rulers of the earth. Our God is a God who reigns!
