Day 20 of 90 days through the Bible: Saul became the first king of Israel. According to Samuel, Saul had the looks of a king but not the heart for God. Rebellion, arrogance and rejection are words that Samuel used to describe him. Here are the three attitudes that Saul had: One, 'I need to do it now'. Two, 'they don't know what they are talking about, I'll do it my way', and THREE, 'I deserve to be honored so I'll build a monument in my name'. Wow, looks are important. Sacrifice and offerings are essential in worship. But having a heart for God supercedes everything. Lord, help me to get a grasp of my heart and get back to obedience. amen.
