the psalmist has a clear grasp of the fact that God works with those who are serious about their relationship with Him. Those who want to know what His way of life is and are wiling to try and live it. those who realise that thoer lives have not been perrfect, who are contirte about their former failings. those who humbly trust that what he says is best. those who have a healthy fear of His authority over our lives. Jesus put it in another way: 'if you love me you will obey my commandments'
it is a teaching against the folly of believing that we can enjoy the blessing of God without entering into that willing submission to His instruction in our lives and loving devotion to Him for His clearly demonstrated love and devotion to us. The book of Joshua puts it well: 'Chose this day whom you will serve...'

Psalm 25:1
