John 19:35 ASV

Q: What can you testify about Jesus, just from being near Him the last few days and weeks?
A: Jesus wants to be part of our inner circle. He wants us to go to him not only in the bad times, but in the good times as well. He wants to comfort us in our times of grief. In the case of John and Mary, he could not be there in person, so he gave them each other. It was a comfort to Jesus that his mother and the disciple whom he loved could lean on each other for comfort.

Q: What do you do when you can't explain what Jesus is doing -- like when he hasn't stopped a tragedy, or when he's not lifting another's suffering?
A: God/Jesus doesn't do (or doesn't not do) things for no reason. There is an intentional purpose to everything he does (or does not do). We may not understand that purpose at the time. There are things that we may never understand this side of heaven. Still, in the midst of our confusion, he still wants us simply to believe that he is God, and that he is good.
