This is a bold promise that Jesus makes - if I have faith and do not doubt, I will receive whatever I ask for in prayer.

Is this a blank cheque? Jesus is talking to His disciples here, those who have left everything to follow Him, and to go His will. In that context it is a fantastic promise. Does it apply to me? Am I His disciple? Do I believe and practice this on behalf of others? For myself?
