Improving Grounds
What stands out for me in this passage is that the two men who claimed Jesus' body after the crucifixion were two men who were not public in their following of him (at least not at first). Joseph of Arimathea was a "secret follower" ... Nicodemus first approached Jesus in the dark of night. Both of them did make a public declaration of sorts that they were followers of Christ when they buried his body. They only THOUGHT that his ministry was over.....
Gets me to wondering ... how much Kingdom building can one do in secret? If you have a relationship with Jesus simply for your own benefit, where is the benefit to others who do not know him? How often do I do the same? All too often. A good friend and I were talking and praying about having Divine Appointments where I have an opportunity to open up a discussion about Jesus. His love is too good to be kept secret ... help me to bring it out into the open.
