John 18:28-40 ASV

The King. The King who defeats what holds us by being abused by us and painfully bearing all that is wrong and hateful and selfish and base in us. The King who doesn't have to defend himself because he doesn't need to prove anything to really be the King - that's just something He is. The King that sees what He's going to face and is still willing to turn a conversation to give Pilate a chance to see in the light and put his faith in Him. The King that the leaders reject for Barabbus and still doesn't turn from saving. This is the King who testifies to truth. Truth that is the God who loves and seeks to redeem all people. Truth that is power to defeat evil and the Evil One and sin and death. Truth that is the ability to rule any who will yield to His reign. Truth that just is. Accept it or reject it, love him or hate him, follow Him or go your own way - it's just true without us to prove it. It is truth that comes true for us the moment we turn to him and believe. Rule us, our King.
