Genesis 3:1 ASV, Mark 9:7 ASV and Philippians 3:16 ASV

God gave Adam & Eve plenty of information. However, one piece of information that he never gave them was a small piece of information. One might have called it vital information: "There is a crafty creature that will show up in the garden. Beware what he says."

Why didn't God tell them? Was it because He didn't care or was it because it was to be an unannounced test to see if they would obey what they already knew to be true?

Would Adam & Eve live up to what they knew to be true? Would they love and listen the Heavenly Father who gave them life? This is also seen in the passage of the New Testament:

“This is my Son, whom I love. Listen to him!” - Mark 9:7

The mechanism that we see is the example of what occurs when people are offered an opportunity to feel close to God and yet do what they want.
