Clap your hands, all you nations; shout to God with cries of joy. How awesome is the Lord Most High, the great King over all the earth!(NIV)
When victory is experienced, it is almost natural to clap and shout. The ceremony of the swearing in of the President, people clapped and shouted his name. Music concerts with our favorite band or musician we clap and shout. In movies, when our heroes succeed in defeating evil, people clap and shout in the theatre.
Go to almost any sporting event and people will be clapping and shouting for their team. Sadly, most no one objects to clapping and shouting at these events.
Clap and shout in church...... that is scandalous!
I am not saying to clap and shout at church at just any old time. People are thinking,"There is a time and a place to clap and shout.". Some would NEVER even clap or shout at church. They are too dignified.
We clap our hands and shout at many different worldly venues. These things do not matter in the scheme of life. They will pass away.
Should not more importance be put on clapping our hands and shouting unto God, instead of what the world deems important ? Say like the Super Bowl?
Do we clap our hands and shout for worldly people and things more than our Lord Most High? Heart check..........
