What a glorious God. He has chosen His people in Christ before He ever even created the world; before He laid the foundation of the earth. Predestinated means He chose us to be His adopted sons's through Christ Jesus; not because of anything we have done, but out of His free mercy. As our Lord Jesus said, it is not we who have chosen Him, but He has chosen us. Thus, Christ becomes our Mediator and the conduit by which God's love and mercy flows to us. It says that God has done this "acoording to the good pleasure of His will." Not ours, but by His own will which is nothing but good. What a simple and wonderful truth presemted to us in the Bible. This should humble us and bring us to the feet of Christ as our only Savior who reconciles us to God the Father.
