There is so much rich Scripture in Matthew 5...and so many Biblical truths. However, the words that stick out for me are verses 11 and 12. We should be happy when we are mocked or persecuted for following Christ? That is tough. I can understand feeling like a warrior...or feeling resolve to be persecuted...but joy...happiness? The only way that is accomplished is by focusing on the things of Heaven...the things of God...and not on the things of this Earth. That is tough...but a daily goal we should all strive for.
