Dwight L. Moody
“Out of 100 men, one will read the Bible, the other 99 will read the Christian.” D.L. Moody
THE FULLY SURRENDERED LIFE
However, I consider my life worth nothing to me, if only I may finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me-the task of testifying to the gospel of God’s grace.
1) ARE YOU DECREASING?
He must increase, but I must decrease.
“I have had more trouble with D.L. Moody than any other man I’ve ever met.” D. L. Moody
•Decreasing love of the world.
Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
•Decreasing pride.
May I never boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ…
“God sends no one away empty except the one who is full of himself.” D.L. Moody
2) ARE YOU YIELDING TO GOD’S POWER?
God hath spoken once; twice have I heard this; that power belongeth unto God.
“It was almost too sacred an experience to name – Paul had an experience of which he never spoke for fourteen years – I can only say God revealed himself to me. I had such an experience of His holy love that I had to ask Him to stay His hand.” D.L. Mood
“The world has yet to see what God will do with, and for, and through, and in, and by the man who gives himself up wholly to Him.” Henry Varley
“I will be that man.” D.L. Moody
3) DO YOU REALLY LOVE THOSE WHO
DON’T KNOW CHRIST?
Suppose one of you has a hundred sheep and loses one of them. Does he not leave the ninety-nine in the open country and go after the lost sheep until he finds it?
“I looked upon this world as a wrecked vessel. God has given me a lifeboat and said to me, “Moody, save all you can!”
D. L. Moody
