it seems to me that Jacob cheated his way to the top. He manufactured flawed animals, knowing the whole time that Laban had to give those to him. God doesn't say anything about it. Was he in the wrong? isn't that deceptive? God warns Jacob and tells him to flee and He will be with him. God is still with us, even when we sin... then we see that God told Jacob to do these things because He saw that Jacob was being cheated. so God told him to do this, but still it seems deceptive to me.
