just a little more time
I can not honestly say that i have ever heard this verse preached on. But as i read this verse here at 3 a.m. I couldn't help but realize that it seems an underlying implication of it is about God's love and patience for us. The reason i say that is because because it says "God's kindness is intended to lead you to repentance" And just a few verses before that paul was warning people about judging others. When we pass judgement on someone and wonder why God doesn't take them out of the picture or why he doesn't eliminate the problem, maybe this is the exact reason why. Maybe God is giving them more time to come to him out of his kindness and love for them. So that's why paul was a little irritated with the people. They were so caught up in their own self righteousness, that they couldn't see the bigger picture. It seems they were taking God's mercy and kindness and love for granted in the fact that God was giving everyone a chance to come to him through repentance.
