"He loved her"
I love that Scripture says here that "he loved her," instead the "knew" her that we so often see. I take this to mean that he cherished her and had deep affection for her in spite of the way his culture viewed women. Even today, as culture dictates that we lust after women and view them as objects for personal fulfillment, I want to be one who loves.
