Exodus 3:1-10 ASV

This is actually pretty crazy- being that I myself have never seen a bush on fire much less on fire but not consumed. I can only imagine that this day began like any other and then here God uses a miracle and speaks to Moses that he is going to lead a country of people out of captivity. Moses had fled after murdering the Egyptian and was basically hiding out. He tended sheep, he wasn't doing anything extravagant- and yet, this is when God called him out. One, he couldn't hide from God. I'm just reminded that even though I may not always act in a manner worthy of a calling, I can't hide from it- from God. And two, Moses was just an ordinary guy having an ordinary day...God isn't looking for perfect people- for people that have it all together, that have endless resources at their fingertips, for folks that are doing big, important jobs. Nope. Thankfully, He uses normal folks doing run of the mill jobs. Ordinary people chosen to do extraordinary things. Thanks God, for looking past "us" and knowing what only you can know- that we are capable, with your enabling, of doing amazing things that will advance your kingdom on the earth. We need to believe this- and walk it out -and not wait for one of our houseplants to catch on fire to know that this is God's will for us. This absolutely is for everyone of us!
