O: The smart virgins had enough resources to do what they needed to do. They didn't jeopardize their ability to faithfully complete what they were responsible for by trying to make up for the lack of preparation by others.
A: Sometimes its easy to want to use my own emotional, energy, time resources to help someone who has put themselves in an unpreparaed situation. However, if this puts at risk my own ability to complete my existing responsibilities and calling then it is not compassion to give out of my resource, it's foolishness. I need to make sure I always live in love, but that that love must also include boundaries. I can only give out of my overflow, not out of what is required to do what I need to do.
P: Lord, please give me the wisdom and insight to know how and when to draw boundaries, and when to go out of my way for others. Please help me to live in the life-giving relationship with you which will mean I am overflowing with your grace to give to others.
