...to those sanctified in Christ Jesus...

Sanctified, here means? It appears as a past participle in English--something that has already taken place.

They have been set apart from evil and dedicated to God... in Christ Jesus. This seems to suggest that there is a permanent aspect to sanctification--a once and for all aspect.

Sanctification is a process, but it also is an action taken on our behalf by God through faith in Christ Jesus....

NIV--those sanctified

NASB-those that have been sanctified

KJV--them that are sanctified

We know from the letter that they left a lot to be sanctified-yet. Its amazing that the Holy Spirit calls them sanctified in Christ Jesus...

This is how the Holy Spirit speaks of us... this is our Father's opinion of us--sanctified in Christ Jesus... AWESOME.
